Air quality in Hong Kong is a prime concern in Hong Kong. BEC's member-driven Committee on Air Pollution seeks to encourage air pollution prevention and address cross border air pollution issues.
The committee meets every two month to discuss latest developments in the field and take forward initiatives to promote further progress. Key areas of activity include:
- considering BEC's on-going approach to addressing air pollution related issues
- reviewing and responding to Government consultation papers on issues such as Mandatory VOC Registration and Labelling
- organising technical briefings and tours to share knowledge on global climate concerns and solutions including emission trading and clean development mechanism
- initiating projects and programmes to further promote air pollution prevention in Hong Kong and PRD region
BEC members are welcome to participate. Non-members can also be invited, at the Committee’s discretion, to join as an observer or provide a briefing. For further information, please email the Committee Coorindator Ms Konnie Yu or on call (+852) 2784 3921.
