Our Partners & Programs
As a business-led association, BEC understands the demands and obstacles in today's corporate environment, and that partnership and dialogue are indispensable in achieving corporate sustainability. We develop best possible practices through awards, events, conferences, training and consultancy with both tailor-made programs specific to customers' needs and industry-wide support programs. Our strategic direction is governed by a board of 20 directors drawn from leading multinational and local corporations.
We partner with both public and private sectors to pool resources, implement strategy and facilitate change. Locally, we partner with BEAM Society on Green Building Labeling, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce on Clean Air Charter, Hongkong and Shanghai Bank on Green Equipment Financing and Living Business Program, Federation of Hong Kong Industries on 1-1-1 Environmental Program. We also help government-mandated bodies on various public and industry wide initiatives; such as with Environmental Protection Department on Waste Separation in public housing estates,Trade and Industries Department on Hong Kong Awards for Industries in Environmental Performance, Hong Kong Trade Development Council for Green Consumerism Research and Publications, Council for Sustainable Development on Stakeholder Dialogue, Harbourfront Enhancement Committee and Tourism Strategy Committee for advisory. In mainland China, we work actively to promote corporate responsibility, clean production and energy efficiency via our Beijing and Shenzhen operations. We are the first Hong Kong partner to co-organize the annual Green China Forum with China Environmental Culture Promotion Association of Ministry of Environmental Protection. Our alliances also include China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, Alxa SEE Ecological Association, Peking University, Jiangsu Province Renewable Energy Association and Guangdong Association of Environmental Protection Industry. Internationally, BEC serves as Hong Kong's network partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and representative for the Prince of Wales’ Business for the Environment Program. Other parterrs include United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative, Construction Industry Research and Information Association, Urban Land Institute and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
