ENGINEER – MANAGER

The Green Building Industry is one of the world’s, and Hong Kong’s fastest growing industries. Hong Kong has over 30,000 buildings that need to be transformed to ‘clean and green’. You will be using the latest tools and introducing the latest technologies on high profile projects. Since 1998, BEC has certified over 90 million square feet of space including over 50,000 residential units using the Green Building Labelling scheme Building Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM). This is your career opportunity to set new standards in this new and exciting field.

Major Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage and execute Energy Management and Green Building certification programs. We will provide comprehensive on-job training to ensure that your career will remain at the front of the green building industry.

• Manage and deliver a broad range of BEAM green building assessments and energy efficiency programs in Hong Kong and occasionally in mainland China
• Manage and coach junior engineers
• Advise building project teams on applying sustainable building concepts, policies and systems for their existing and new buildings
• Manage and conduct energy audits and propose sustainable solutions, policies and practices
• Prepare proposals and reports, as well as coordinate client communications and project schedules
  
  

Requirements

• Ten years experience in the design, construction and operation of buildings
• Building related Bachelor degree in Engineering
• Demonstrated ability to work with clients at the executive level
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects at any time
• Thorough knowledge of energy auditing, monitoring and life cycle assessment is essential
• Demonstrated ability to work with building project teams
• Good report writing and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese are essential.
• Experience in HVAC design and operation will be a distinct advantage.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently in a fast pace environment
