Mainland China Advisory Committee (MCAC) was set up in August 2007 to support BEC's business expansion and greater involvement in the Mainland. The function of the MCAC is an advisory body aimed at building a platform to consolidate resources with Mainland interests, exchange experience and ideas, so as to provide referencing advice and/or supports relating to BEC Mainland China business or program development.
The Committee meets quarterly for the following purposes:
- concentrate resources with Mainland interests for the most effective applications
- facilitate BEC becoming an opportunities provider to both Hong Kong and mainland business community
- promote cooperation on CSR and green business opportunities between the mainland and Hong Kong as well as other regions
- review and consider from time to time pertinent strategic direction of BEC Mainland development
- develop and manage a Mainland China Environment/Sustainable Development Fund to support BEC's not-for-profit programs in Mainland
