EcoSage Limited (EcoSage) was founded by two environmental specialists in 2005. It provides one-stop environmental services including recycling, environmental consultancy and trading of environmentally friendly products. The company has a recycling depot located in Kowloon Bay.


Commitment to Environmental Protection
"As an environmental service provider, we need to set a good example and take the lead to minimize our environmental impact. So we have a clear environmental policy and instructions in place. Monitoring on noise, indoor air quality (IAQ) and air emission from company vehicle is conducted regularly to ensure our impact on the environment is reduced to a minimum," said Alex Tam, Environmental Specialist and Founder of EcoSage Limited. The company also purchases environmentally friendly products such as biodegradable detergent and energy-saving light bulbs, both for internal use and re-selling. In addition, it organises environmental programs in public housing estates to raise the general public's awareness of environmental protection.

Excellence in Employee Management
Given that EcoSage is a very small company with only three full-time employees, staff members have close communication with each other. Flexible holidays and working hours are provided to meet the special needs of individual employees. The company has also established formal occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and an independent consultant is employed to conduct an OHS audit on a regular basis.

Achievements in Community Development
EcoSage supports organisations like the "Green Ladies" to spread environmental messages to the community, and it also provides them with basic environmental knowledge. It hires students and middle-aged housewives as part-time staff to support the "Employment Programme for the Middle-aged".

Overall Management Quality and Effectiveness
"Environmental performance is one of our considerations in selecting suppliers. We only choose suppliers that are environmentally conscious, for example companies which have obtained ISO 14001 certification," said Alex Tam. In order to increase the company's transparency, EcoSage arranges for stakeholders to visit its recycling depot.
