Recognition
Winning products will be announced and showcased in the grand award presentation ceremony, and will be widely promoted by our media partners including South China Morning Post, Hong Kong Economic Times, Wen Wei Po, and co-organizing and supporting organizations. Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards will be given to winners of the Hong Kong Eco-Products Award 2007. Winners will be entitled to display the Hong Kong Eco-Products Award 2007 logo on their corporate collaterals for a period of three years from the presentation of the Award.
Eligibility
All consumer products* available in Hong Kong market for at least 6 months but not more than 2 years are eligible to enter the Hong Kong Eco-Products Award 2007. The applicant must be a company or organization operates in Hong Kong and must possess a valid Business Registration Certificate.
Designing firms, trading companies or agents are welcome to enter the award with the permission from the products proprietary right owners. However, detailed information on the product life cycle and environmental performance is required in all cases. Application submitted in the name of individual will NOT be accepted.
*For the purpose of the award, 'consumer products' are defined as products that are purchased by final consumers for personal consumption, such as:

Applicants can submit a maximum of two products. Separate forms should be used for each application. However, applicants are not encouraged to submit repeated applications for products with similar features. The Organizer reserves the right to make the final decision on the eligibility of entrants.
Judging Criteria
Assessment criteria (Figure 1) are tailored to address the product life-cycle of design, manufacture, packaging and transportation, use through disposal or recycle.
Environmental aspects to be considered include:
- Resource consumption (energy, water materials, etc.)
- Recycled content and recyclablility
- Avoidance of hazardous substances
- Durability and life expectancy
- Repairability
Consideration is also given for quality, innovation, marketability.
