The Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC) is the leading body driving the promotion and creation of green, sustainable buildings and standards throughout the Hong Kong SAR, engaging community, industry and government to create a greener, more sustainable environment.

Recognising the urgent need to create synergies among the organisations advancing green building initiatives in Hong Kong, four leading industry organisations, The BEAM Society (BEAM),the Business Environment Council (BEC), the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC) came together in 2009 to establish the HKGBC. Each founding member brings a strong track record of actively improving Hong Kong's green credentials in their respective parts of the value chain. With their expertise as the foundation, the HKGBC will lead the green building movement, and coordinate research, education, best practices and standards.

Vision:
To aspire for quality and sustainability at every stage of the building life cycle and embrace these principles as a mark of excellence

Mission:
To lead the market transformation to a sustainable built environment in Hong Kong by guiding the development of industry standards, best practices, education, and research in green buildings
