23 Aug 2010 - Hang Seng Sustainability Index Briefing Session
About 80 business lwww.bec.org.hk/eng/404.aspxeaders attended the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index briefing session organized by BEC to share the business case in the index and exchange ideas in how the index will raise the standards of corporate governance among the business community.

5 July 2010 - BEC Specialist Delivered a Guest Lecture on CSR at City University
BEC’s Corporate Sustainability Team – Senior Specialist Mr Terence Cheng delivered a guest lecture on 5 July at City University on “Corporate Social Responsibility in Asia” in a summer course.

2 June 2010 - EnviroSeries 2010: Green Supply Chain Form: Risks, Rewards & Roadmap
Business Environment Council hosted the Green Supply Chain Management Forum with an in-depth look at the importance of transitioning to a green supply chain and the risks and rewards in store for Hong Kong in doing so.

22 April 2010 - EnviroSeries 2010: Energy Efficiency Forum for a Low Carbon Hong Kong
Business Environment Council staged the Low Carbon Forum on World Earth Day. Over 120 business leaders and industry experts gathered to exchange ideas on the challenges and opportunities that would shape Hong Kong's transition into a low carbon city.

16 April 2009 - CEO Forum - Leadership in Corporate Sustainability
Business Environment Council hosted the CEO Forum – Leadership in Corporate Sustainability at Exchange Auditorium. CEOs from the BEC, Gammon Construction and the Hong Kong Exchange focused on their efforts and insights of corporate sustainability to drive long-term business success.

6 April 2009 - Scottland & Hong Kong - Embracing Renewable Energy Seminar
Business Environment Council and Scotland Development International co-organized the “Scotland and Hong Kong – embracing renewable energy” seminar, with the endorsement from the Independent Power Producers Forum (ippf). Dr Andrew Thomson, CEO of BEC facilitated the seminar, where about 80 renewable energy experts and policy makers from Scotland and Hong Kong participated.

31 March 2009 - Corporate Sustainability Reporting Workshop for Beginners
Business Environment Council held the “Sustainability Reporting Workshop for Beginners” on March 31. This is the third such workshop that BEC has held and regular workshops are scheduled on March 31, April 29, June 30 and July 31. More than 100 senior executives will be trained on Sustainability Reporting throughout this workshop series.

30 September 2008 - EnviroSeries 2008: Building Energy Efficiency Forum
Business Environment Council staged the Building Energy Efficiency Forum at our own auditorium. 12 distinguished government and business leaders spoke in the Forum, provided the latest overview of energy efficiency, best practices and available programs for both existing and new buildings.

12 September 2008 - EnviroSeries 2008: 14th Green China Forum
Business Environment Council and China Environmental Culture Promotion Association (CECPA) co-staged the 14th Green China Forum in Shenzhen. 25 distinguished government, business and academic leaders from national, provincial and municipal levels from both mainland China and Hong Kong were invited to speak in the Forum, focusing on environmental economy policy and sustainable development in Pearl River Delta.

20 June 2008 - EnviroSeries 2008: International CSR Experts Forum
20 renowned leaders from government, business, education and media sectors shared their expertise and experience covering global standards, guidelines, best practices and outstanding examples. Speakers also highlighted how CSR served as a key driver to sustainable development of Chinese enterprises linking with broader societal goals.

Business Environment Council staged the Worlds Collide Forum. 13 leading international and local experts providing updates on sustainable financing trends. Corporations begin to realize the concept of sustainability — a triple bottom line that balances social, environmental and economic interests. Sustainable development has become part of the profit principle — not something the market is forced to accommodate but a market driver.

5 June 2007 - EnviroSeries 2007: Green Collar Conference
Business Environment Council hosted Green Collar - Achieving Healthy, Productive and Sustainable Workplaces empowering business leaders and building capacity to deliver sustainability at work. At the conference, fourteen policy maker, business leaders and experts in the industry gathered to build consensus on emerging trends, practical insights and success stories of reducing the ecological footprint of their organizations.
