BEC produces a comprehensive Environmental Resource Guidebook for SME Manufacturers to enhance environmental excellence. This bilingual guidebook provides a one-stop location for industrial sectors of food and beverage, printed circuit board, printing and packaging, textile and garment, toy and watch, to understand and pursue environmental issues covering these key areas:
- Industry overview and key environmental issues
- How to enhance environmental excellence?
- Tools to assist your sector on system development and continual environmental improvement
- Relevant legislation on each sector
- FAQs and links to other information
The guidebook links practical knowledge to SMEs and the next generation of industries. The project is conceived with the aim to reduce and roll back pollution that is affecting residents in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region. The key mission of the programme is to help SME manufacturers build capacity to address upcoming environmental challenges from local authority and global supply chain and transfer practical knowledge to SMEs and the next generation of industrialists.
This project is led by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries with BEC as the sole implementation agent to provide technical support. It is part of a larger industrial support project funded by the SME Development Fund of the Trade and Industry Department, HKSAR Government.
This guidebook is available in both electronic and print versions. For free copy, please visit www.bec.org.hk or contact Mr Justin Li , Head of Environmental Sustainability of Business Environment Council at (852) 2784 3939.
