Business Environment Council (BEC) is a regional network partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) since 2003. The WBCSD's Regional Network is an informal alliance some 55 CEO-led business organizations around the globe that are united by a shared commitment to providing business leadership for sustainable development in their respective countries or regions. While the WBCSD makes the business case on the world stage, its Regional Network helps shape the sustainable development agenda at the local and regional levels.
WBCSD is a CEO-led, global association of some 200 companies dealing exclusively with business and sustainable development. WBCSD provides a platform for companies to explore sustainable development, share knowledge, experiences and best practices, and to advocate business positions on these issues in a variety of forums, working with governments, non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations.
WBCSD Members are drawn from more than 35 countries and 20 major industrial sectors. It also benefits from a global network of about 60 national and regional business councils and regional partners, in which, BEC is the only regional network partner in Hong Kong.
