Call for Industry to demonstrate its green credentials - The Hong Kong Awards for Industry in Environmental Performance Opens for Entries
The Business Environment Council (BEC) announced today that the 2004 Hong Kong Awards for Industry in Environmental Performance, which aims to promote the benefits to business of embracing environmental protection, is open for entries. The award is open to manufacturing or manufacturing-related companies which possess valid business registration certificate in Hong Kong. The location of activities need not necessarily be confined to Hong Kong. However, at least one or more of the critical manufacturing-related processes must be carried out in Hong Kong to support overall in-house manufacturing operations.
Besides substantiating the green claims of Hong Kong business and recognizing the achievements of winners, the award offers all entrants the opportunity to benchmark their companies against environmental best practice. Dr Andrew Thomson, Chief Executive Officer of BEC said, part from receiving recognition as environmental performance leaders within the industry, participating companies also obtain advice from our assessment team on operational efficiency, and cost reduction by adopting sound environmental practices.
This year, winning companies will receive their prestigious environmental awards in recognition of their success at the high profile ceremony in November 2004. The Grand Award and Award winners will receive prestigious trophy in recognition of their success, and will be entitled to display the official Hong Kong Awards for Industry logo on letterheads and other corporate promotional materials for 3 years.
