CSR Reporting

BEC provides various services to help companies with their CSR reporting including:

  • Preparation of reports: Together with the client and its stakeholders (if requested), BEC will define the scope of the report. BEC will then work closely together with the client to collect the necessary data and draft the text of the report (including graphics) to ensure that the report covers the key sustainable development issues that the company faces and provides an accurate and relevant account of the company’s CSR activities.
  • Verification of reports: BEC can check the completeness, accuracy and credibility of a client’s CSR report through examining the relevant records, reviewing the procedure/system for collecting and collating the data, and carrying out interviews and site-visits. As part of the service, BEC will provide recommendation for future CSR reporting, a bilingual verification statement and a more comprehensive verification report.
  • Auditing against the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative and other standards (such as AA1000 Assurance Standard)
  • BEC can also help in the translation of reports (Chinese, English)


Auditing & Verification

BEC audits typically address energy, waste, recycling, water, hazardous substances and dangerous goods, indoor air quality, noise, purchasing, supplier and subcontractor controls in their scope. Our audits consist of:

  • A comprehensive review of your environmental impacts and how effectively they are being managed;
  • Identifying compliance against associated regulatory requirements with step-by-step guidance on how to comply;
  • Reviewing compliance with non-regulatory requirements (e.g. corporate policy, management systems, customer specifications, or business and industry standards);
  • Identifying areas for performance improvement;
  • Helping to identify and priorities objectives for decision making, management, budgeting, etc;
  • Helping to train staff to implement more effective practices (from the shop-floor up to management levels)
