An initiative of the Business Environment Council, The Climate Change Business Forum (CCBF) convenes Hong Kong’s most astute business leaders to temper the effects of climate change. CCBF commissions research, communicates risks and opportunities, shares best practices and promotes practical actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. CCBF is a membership-supported organisation.
This position reports to CCBF’s Director and assists in the running of the forum. The position is responsible for supporting and facilitating the CCBF Best Practices Committee (BPC), a group of member company representatives who meet regularly to oversee research and exchange best practice in a spectrum of low-carbon, sustainable business strategies.
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all BPC activities. Attend and support all CCBF events, membership development and retention goals and overall strategy. In addition, the position will support the Government Liaison Committee as well as the general running of the forum, including events, web site updates, database management and member interface.
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate CCBF’s best practice and research activities
- Plan, facilitate, and publish minutes of BPC meetings
- Ensure all follow-up action is completed on time and on budget, coordinated as per CCBF coordination procedures
- Draft, review and/or coordinate BPC related publications
- Design and manage CCBF events, in coordination with CCBF Communications Manager
- Assist in translating materials into Chinese language or reviewing Chinese translations
- Monitor media reports about the organisation and industry in Chinese
- Assist in database management, financial management & member relationship management
Requirements:
- Bachelors + 2 years of work experience or Masters degree (environment related a plus)
- Fluent in English and Cantonese
- Research, events, professional writing and web development are assets
- Preferred: a good understanding about issues related climate change and the environment and/or an interest in learning.
- Design skills preferred (Microsoft Publisher and Adobe Photoshop & Dreamweaver)
- Confident and articulate in dealing with senior business people and stakeholders
- Strong written, presentation, communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as being a team player
