Established in April 2002, the Committee on Sustainable Development seeks to promote to companies of all sizes and sectors the benefits of embracing their environmental, social and financial bottom lines.
The Committee meets every month to discuss the latest sustainable development issues, their impacts and ways to help the businesses contribute positively. Key areas include:
- identifying and assessing sustainable development issues relating to the business community
- initiating projects and programmes to share local and best practices, helping enterprises address the environmental and social challenges that face their business and the economy
- participating in the development of Government's SD policies by commenting on consultation papers and presenting the views of business
