The Coalition on Sustainable Tourism (CST) developed Hong Kong's Great Outdoors Guide-Map in 2005 to promote Hong Kong as a city far more than simply a metropolis. In the guide-map, more than 50 nature and cultural destinations are highlighted. This is the first map of its kind in Hong Kong to also suggest 6 itineraries with background of the destinations to local or foreign eco-tourists.
A year after the tragic tsunami incident, CST gathered a group of travel and tourism industry leaders to tell the public how people in the South Asia worked hard to make their country a tourist pick again.
"The South Asian population's livelihood depends heavily on tourism. One of the most direct and sustainable way to provide relief and assistance is to help their economy recover by paying them a visit," said Dr Andrew Thomson, Chief Executive Officer of BEC; member of CST.
