Session 2: Decarbonising Hong Kong’s Buildings — From Operational Efficiency to Circular Construction The buildings in which Hong Kong’s businesses operate offer opportunities to reduce emissions through both better energy performance and more efficient use of materials. These opportunities arise at different stages, from design and construction to operation, refurbishment and reuse. This session will examine how owners, occupiers, contractors and solution providers can make low-carbon decisions commercially workable across the building lifecycle. Practical cases will explore improvements to existing buildings alongside approaches to retaining, reusing and selecting materials during construction and refurbishment. Ms Dharisha Mirando Dharisha hails from the finance industry and leads CWR’s work related to financial risk and resilience through reports, engagement and tool development. She joined the team as she believes that climate and water factors are downplayed by the private sector.
