BEC organised a technical tour to Citybus West Kowloon Depot on Monday 14 July 2025. Participants had the unique opportunity to visit Hong Kong’s first hydrogen refuelling station, experience a ride on the world’s first tri-axle hydrogen fuel cell double-deck bus, and learn about Citybus’ ambitious goal to operate a full-fleet of zero emission buses by 2045.
Citybus introduced the world’s first tri-axle hydrogen fuel cell double-deck bus in 2022, specially designed for Hong Kong's unique operational environment. The bus entered service in 2024, representing a significant milestone for both Hong Kong and the global public transport industry.
