BEC gains the support from Siemens and Schneider Electric for upgrading the Building Management System (“BMS”) and replacement of an existing air-cooled chiller

BEC is pleased to announce its partnership with Siemens and Schneider Electric to upgrade the BEC headquarters’ building management system and replace the air-cooled chiller with an oil-free variable speed air-cooled chiller. A contract signing ceremony was held on 15 December with Mr Eric Chong, President and CEO of Siemens, Mr Travis Kan, Business Development Director of Schneider Electric, and Mr Richard Lancaster, Chairman of BEC.

The new BMS will connect to all the sub-meters installed within the building, enabling a thorough understanding of the electricity consumption of different building services equipment within the building. It can improve maintenance efficiency and facilitate the energy audit by automatically logging all the data. A dashboard will also be installed at the prominent location of the building, which can reveal the performance of BEC and our partners’ office on a real time basis.

Schneider Electric will help to install a 110 TR oil-free variable speed air-cooled chiller and the variable speed drives for three chilled water pumps on the roof floor. It is anticipated the aforesaid works can be completed in the Q2 of 2017.
